Cut Flowers |
Your cut flowers will last
much longer if you place them in the solution of flower
preservative enclosed with your flowers, following the
directions carefully. Trim each stem with a sharp knife,
remove any leaves below the water level and arrange flowers
in a clean container. Do not change water, simply add fresh
water daily. Keep your flowers in a cool, draft-free spot
for maximum life. Never place cut flowers in direct
sunlight.

Fresh Cut
Roses |
Remove all foliage below
water level but take care not to cut or scrape stem bark.
Re-cut stems with sharp knife under water. Arrange roses in
clean, deep container filled with room temperature water and
floral preservative. Roses are thirsty and need a lot of
water. Keep vase full by adding water daily. Display in cool
location out of direct sun. Avoid any direct source of heat.

Corsages & Boutonnieres |
 |
|
Wearing flowers for daytime or
evening occasions is both fashionable and fun. Corsages can be worn on the
wrist or in the hair. Wear them on a collar, on the waist or on the
shoulder. Wear them on a purse. But remember, always wear them the way the
flowers grow: blossoms up, stems down.
Guard your flowers carefully against sudden exposures
to cold air. In very cold weather, carry your corsages in the box. Put them
on after you arrive for the festivities. And remember, too much handling
bruises delicate petals and stems.
To keep your corsages
fresh and bright for a second day, cover with a thin wet cloth; refrigerate
in the florist's box. (Orchids are the exception. Unwind the stem wrapping
and place the orchid stem under water. Keep them in a cool place, out of
drafts, but not in the refrigerator.)
Flowers & Sense can
style your corsages in the newest fashion trends, that include the in colors
and designs that accentuate your clothing and the occasion.
