About Us

Flowers & Sense is located in Barrie, at 313 Blake street in the East Plaza.  We have been on operation since 1999 and provide flowers, plants, and wedding/event services throughout the Simcoe County region.

Our floral shop will provide a variety of custom services ranging from unique silk flower arrangements to custom gift baskets, balloon bouquets and home decor.  This is in addition to the traditional flower shop services of providing fresh flowers, live plants, funeral flowers and wedding flowers for our valued clients.

Flowers & Sense can provide all your wedding flowers from classical elegance, to something funky, to dreamy colours in a design that will reflect your personal style.

Marie Belcourt is a Graduate of the Humber College Floral Design Program. She has been designing for 20 years.

Marilyn Ruyter is a successful business entrepreneur in Barrie for last 20 years. She attended Georgian College in the Graphics and Fine Arts Program.

Marilyn and Marie continue their education in the floral arts by attending seminars and workshops in Ontario and New York State. In the summer of 2007 they completed a Master class for accomplished designers with Hitomi Gilliam, AIFD and Seneca College in Neo Tropica. Marilyn and Marie were also privileged to attend a workshop with world renowned designer Shane Connelly, designer for the Royal Family. Marie’s great traditional experience in the floral industry and Marilyn’s innovative ideas make Flowers & Sense a shop with unique designs for any occasion.

Chrissy Caza is our new and upcoming designer. Chrissy completed her course at the Floral Institute of Design in Toronto. She has completed her apprenticeship with us and brings her unique style to compliment our designs at Flowers & Sense.
